Sept. 21st Steering Committee Meeting Mintues

Below are the meeting minutes from the planning meeting on Friday, Sept. 21st:

  • Spoke about political forum- plan for next year, most likely fall
  • Association of Fundraising Professionals- national audio webinars (1.5 hours)- would be hosted at Herkimer County Community College- AFP CNY Chapter- if AFP member, free.  For non-members it is $10.  
  • Discussed leadership and recent survey on training needs.
  • Discussed relationship between the ED and Board President.  Develop a panel featuring various nonprofits with their board president and executive director speaking about their partnerships.  Topic for 2013.
  • Oct 10th Program- confirmed.  Introduce Keith.  Have evaluation and ask about future direction- question about fund development webinars.
  • Disaster Planning Program- November- possible dates: Nov 7, 8 and 9. 9am start time. Cassandra host.  The two main topics of this presentation would be emergency planning (which addresses immediate life safety issues in the event of disaster) and Continuity of Operations Planning (or COOP – which addresses sustainability of the organization post-disaster).  Will cover the reasons why we plan, what our hazards are, planning steps, considerations, and resources.  An hour is a comfortable time frame.   Technology- ask Tim- will he address recovery of technology or electronic records  To make more relevant- involve some people that speak about disaster impact to set tone- query ED Committee about possible suggestions.  Ask Tim is he has connection to Homeownership. Possible location?
