On the Move: Center for Family Life adds staff, appoints CEO

The Utica OD reported The Center for Family Life and Recovery announced the appointment of Chief Executive Officer Cassandra Sheets. Sheets brings with her a rich portfolio of experience in nonprofit and community work in the Central New York area. She was formerly the executive director of the Mohawk Valley Council on Alcoholism/Addictions, a consultant and accomplished trainer and director of the Oneida County Communities That Care Coalition.

The center also recently announced several other additions to the staff.

* Jeremy Callahan joined the staff in March as the impact program coordinator at the Herkimer office. As coordinator, Jeremy helps to provide individual and group supportive counseling for families of at-risk youth.

* Stephanie Hughes also joined the staff in March as the clinical program assistant at the Columbia Street office in Utica. As a clinical and administrative support specialist, she helps with clerical work, file maintenance and greeting clients.

* Lauren Poccia joined the staff in January as a Young Scholars Program counselor. As a counselor, she provides support and counseling for at-risk youth in a school-based development program in partnership with Utica College. She works with the program at Thomas R. Proctor High School in Utica.

* Jillian Zegarelli joined the staff in January. The Oneida County Prevention Council, a program of the Center for Family Life and Recovery, announced her as the new prevention program specialist at the Court Street office in Utica. Zegarelli is working with the Second Step Program and Life Skills Training Program in area schools.

LATINA WISE in Syracuse..!

The CNY Latino Media Consortium is presenting a new event dedicated to the
“Latina Woman”, as part of the famous women conference WISE, Tuesday April
12, 2011, in the Hotel Holiday Inn Convention Center, in Liverpool, NY. This
Hispanic event is title "WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE A SUCCESSFUL LATINA..?",
and it will take place at 12 noon; the WISE conference is all day and begins
at 8:30 AM.

This is the 9th year the WISE brings one of the biggest business conference,
networking and famous event in New York State, and maybe the most powerful
conference for women..! This year, thanks to the sponsorship of CNY Latino,
and of the partial collaboration of other business, the WISE conference is
going to bring a session dedicated to Latina Woman, where we will discuss
aspects and issues related to "WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE A SUCCESSFUL
LATINA..?", with the participation of four (4) panelist. This panel is made
of four experienced and successful Latinas in their personal and
professional life’s. They will share their expertise, formulas and obstacles
in front of a diverse audience.

El Consorcio de Media CNY Latino está presentando un evento dedicado a la
"Mujer Latina", dentro de la famosa conferencia de mujer WISE, el Martes 12

NY. Este evento Hispano se llama "QUE NECESITA UNA LATINA PARA TENER
ÉXITO..?", y se va a llevar a cabo a las 12 del mediodía; la conferencia de

Este es el noveno año que WISE trae una de las conferencias de negocios y de
networking mas grande y famosas en el estado de New York, y quizás la más
