On the Move: Center for Family Life adds staff, appoints CEO

The Utica OD reported The Center for Family Life and Recovery announced the appointment of Chief Executive Officer Cassandra Sheets. Sheets brings with her a rich portfolio of experience in nonprofit and community work in the Central New York area. She was formerly the executive director of the Mohawk Valley Council on Alcoholism/Addictions, a consultant and accomplished trainer and director of the Oneida County Communities That Care Coalition.

The center also recently announced several other additions to the staff.

* Jeremy Callahan joined the staff in March as the impact program coordinator at the Herkimer office. As coordinator, Jeremy helps to provide individual and group supportive counseling for families of at-risk youth.

* Stephanie Hughes also joined the staff in March as the clinical program assistant at the Columbia Street office in Utica. As a clinical and administrative support specialist, she helps with clerical work, file maintenance and greeting clients.

* Lauren Poccia joined the staff in January as a Young Scholars Program counselor. As a counselor, she provides support and counseling for at-risk youth in a school-based development program in partnership with Utica College. She works with the program at Thomas R. Proctor High School in Utica.

* Jillian Zegarelli joined the staff in January. The Oneida County Prevention Council, a program of the Center for Family Life and Recovery, announced her as the new prevention program specialist at the Court Street office in Utica. Zegarelli is working with the Second Step Program and Life Skills Training Program in area schools.
