The Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce & Partners Announce New Class for Nonprofit Board Leadership Program
UTICA – The Greater Utica Chamber Nonprofit Board Leadership Program is a series of seminars adopted from the Partnership for Nonprofit Enterprise Excellence. The Greater Utica Chamber Nonprofit Board Leadership partners; Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties, and The United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica Area, have joined together to assist nonprofit organizations in facing today’s many challenges.
The most important area is strengthening board leadership. The program offers, at no charge, a series of seminars designed for board leaders. Over an eight-month period, beginning in October, participants will explore a number of governance topics with subject matter experts and their peers. The syllabus has been carefully designed to provide them with the knowledge and tools to more effectively lead their boards. The sessions will take place on a Wednesday once a month, from October through June, 8:00 – 10:00 a.m. at Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, 12 Rhoads Drive, Utica, New York. This year’s class begins on October 2, 2014. Space is still available for this class.
This program enhances the quality of life in the Mohawk Valley by strengthening nonprofits, promoting civic engagement, sharing information and building knowledge.
